RE: Ziigmund and Ivey takes out durrrr

Analysis up to it's usual standard....

"Ziigmund was having a very good session winning a cool half million dollars, but in this hand he got really unlucky. On the given flop, it is understandable that Ivey was willing to go all the way with his hand. Two pairs and straight draws give him a lot of equity against Ziigmund’s range, but this time he was severely dominated."

That hand - Ivey already had second nut straight on flop. Seriously, at least look at the hands if you're going to bother commenting.

Last hand isn't working for the river. Did you see Ziig's hand, how do you know he was bluffing if not? He could have had A4 or hands such as 4x. Unless you see the hole cards and I cannot currently due to the hand not completing.

hmm... this isnt good, i'm getting quite worried on durrrr's behalf because im sure he isnt too worried. i think its time to drop down the stakes to improve his PLO game. i dont see it as a fair fight when you are playing PLO against two guys who have been playing the game for atleast 5 times as long as him. needs to remove his ego and do the logical thing which is learning the game.

anyone agree?

Usual standard, haha, lol. Yeah, baards make these misses in every report and hand. Or, maybe not, however, thanks for the info. I have edited the reports since it seems like Baard is eating a lunch or something

Sure, he needs to go beat 0.02/0.05c PLO then move up and actually learn the game as he hasn't really cracked it (although he has improved a bit since he started) but he's got a huge ego and has to be seen playing in the biggest games going. I don't expect his challenge to be played any time soon either. Losing 2 million within a month has to hurt most players and durrrr is no exception. But just because his account is bust online doesn't mean he's really bust.

Ok, thanks - I don't want to seem too critical but it's just something pretty obvious. Can you get the final hand working, maybe it's just me - but the river hits and then it stops. Thanks.

Yeah, with yesterday's loss he is close to -$5 million on PLO since we started monitoring PLO. That makes him the second largest loser, compared to one of the best stats on NL since we started monitor. But, alot of hands yesterday was very weak, he was probably a little tilted, he moved in with just pair and inside straight etc

But, it feels like this has been the thing the last year, people simply don't laydown a hand, if they have a pair they seem to hope that the other player is overbetting AAxx and that they have a coinflip of hitting two pair/three of a kind or some runner runner draw.

RE: Ziigmund and Ivey takes out durrrr

ty for the reports.. and info, but i do beleve there are some things in the matches you miss that are more interesting than "only the big pots"... ex.. the switch in game, when it becomes deep stacked. first time i have seen zigmund reading the game better than durrr deepstacked. durrr continualy trying to use the checkraise and his ability to get his money in very bad.. except in one spot.

im a plo hu player my self and are really trying to learn and improve but even in my termonology durrrs range in plo seems to be.. too wide.. i mean jj97 one suit put in a four bet seems to be the wrong play. so many hands and flops where youre hand are in bad shape and that seems to be the problem. calling with inferior hands and then hits a weak draw and being committed to his stack.

would love the reports to be longer and more informative thanks for a great site..

There was one really sick hand. Durrr flopped nut straight with a straight flush re-draw and ziig had top set. They got it all in on the flop and Ziig turned quads 10s.

Agree on the first part.
The replay is fixed now, Ziigmund actually had 7c9c8s7d on 9d4d4hQhAc.
So I guess yeah he kinda turn his hand into a bluff on the river.

This is getting so sick! How can I flop the nuts every single hand and lose. What in the world is going on? Are you kidding me?

durrrr clearly isnt as good as other at plo, but he is 800k up over 27000 hands vs imo the best online player in the world, so im sure he can beat the .2 .5cent games!! but he is still a good plo player imo

Do Ivey's results include the FL Holdem 500/1000k? He was 6 tabling and seemed to be up over 300K which would make his total winnings about 950k.

RE: Ziigmund and Ivey takes out durrrr

I was watching all the sessions, Durrrr really seemed to be on tilt, he was acting too quickly and overplaying many hands. Particularly note this hand:

http://www.highstakesdb.com/view-hand-history.aspx?GameID=358475

Durrrr seems to just be playing the loser's mentality of hoping to take a sub-par hand and get a lucky double up, hoping that as conventional wisdom states "no two Omaha hands are much more than a 50% favorite" But really, most Omaha players realize that triple suited AKQdangler hands are not hands you want to get heavily involved with pre-flop. I understand it's heads up and I understand that that Ziigi is particularly aggressive and 3 bets weak, but Ziigi is also willing to call fairly weak and many weak calls are ahead of Durrs hand, and many 3-bet hands are far better than Durrr's (doublesuited 7642 is even 50% to durrrr's hand, but the actual hand ofcourse is 73%).

He might as well take his $150k and go bet it all on black at roulette, it would be a safer bet.

Durrrr really seems to not have picked up the fundamental differences between Omaha and Holdem. Often he plays with a reckless abandon "shove em and pray" mentality. As noted earlier,

"But, it feels like this has been the thing the last year, people simply don't laydown a hand, if they have a pair they seem to hope that the other player is overbetting AAxx and that they have a coinflip of hitting two pair/three of a kind or some runner runner draw."

Durrrr is particularly guilty of this. It is just not winning play at Omaha. No matter if you are playing 1/2 or 1000/2000, making these plays just won't net the $$$. If you watch Ivey and Antonius play, they are slower and more calculating. There are fewer 6 figure pots, but when the big ones come up they are at least slight favorites, and they don't shove immediately every low-flush+gut-shot+1 pair hand they flop.

For all Durrrr's egoism over his Omaha game, he needs to do some reevaluation if he wants to start beating the game, ofcourse he is only what? 22? Plenty of time to go broke and re-win

I have got to agree with you on most of this.

By objectively analysiing individual hands, the clear conclusion is Dwan is making losing plays.

However, I believe much of it is his mood, not ability. He was clearly tilting yesterday (as you have said). I believe it was the 7 game that put him on tilt. Those fixed limit and draw games have massive tilt potential...... GRRR razz!! (a23 and end up with a FH!!, but in stud hi you always make a good low hand!)

I honestly believe he is very aware of his 'mistakes', and he is not doing it for his meta game, he is doing it (just like most people) because he has lost patience, disipline and respect for the game (maybe is ego is a factor, like you stated).

When he wants to play 'good' at HU PLO, he can play excellent, like we have seen in the Durrrr challenge. 25k+ hands vs PA is a pretty good test of your ability
