ineedyourmoney (2007-03-24) alright finally the day is over and its time to play. friday and saturday nights are my favorite. soon ill be writing an entry that puts you guys up to date with where im at currently. for now its time to play! alright well im about to be finished playing a 9 hour session. up $220 on the night. I started out playing 50nl, 100nl and 200nl and just ran awful. Ive been on a horrible run the past few days. I decided to move up to $3/6 and $5/10. I'm sure im tilting from all the bad beats earlier in the night. haha. on $3/6 and $5/10 i would start with $200 on a full ring game. (i would not advise this and i know im playing way out of my limits.) wow! in the middle of typing this out for you guys I catch a set of queens that crushes aces doubling up. Im playing full ring $5/10. Dealer: ineedyourmoney wins the pot ($1,731) with a full house, Queens full of Nines anyways i started in the room im currently playing in with $200 and now im sitting at $1745. so up about $1545 in the room alone. After playing some more hands I think im done for the night. Its 4am here and ive been up since 7am. I finished the table at $1750 or so. Putting me up about $1200 on the night. my bankroll is now at $3500. Thank god cause now im almost back to $4k! If you didnt read the post on the "low limit pro's" topic I had started with $30 in january 07 and was up to 4k until a few days ago when i got crazy and sat $5/10 (which i will add is wayyyy out of my bankroll limits right now!) and took a beating with bad beats. I ended up losing almost half my bankroll. Anyways now that im back up I will be playing within my proper limits. which is 100nl. up 14 buy ins but im going to stick with it until i beat it. guys ill still fill you in on everything up to this point soon. I just wanted to let you know how the night ended. sorry if this post has errors or isnt organized im freakin tired and have just been playing for 9 hours! c-ya tomorrow night!

| Alright well here is about me. Im 26 years old and I live in Houston, TX. I just started playing poker about 2 years ago. It all started in college when my roommate invited some friends over to play a holdem tournament. It looked fun so I played. I had absolutely no idea how to play. they actually had to show me what to do. anyways as expected i lost my $5 dollar buy in. It sparked enough interest in me to wanna learn how to play so i could take my friends money. my brother had been playing some online poker and i thought i would give it a try to teach myself. He showed me a few pointers and i put like $50 on pokerstars and lost it. I did this a few times until i got the hang of it. My brother suggested reading supersystems so i did and after that my game changed completely. I went from being a losing player to a winning player. In my opinion I was alright i guess. Well a few months down the road i was sick of my job at abercrombie that i had been working on and off for 3 years. (where i worked during college) so i quit. i had about $20 to my name. typical poor college student. haha well i said screw it and threw my last $20 on bodog figuring if i read supersystems again and played smart i could atleast make more than my paycheck at abercrombie so id be fine for a couple of weeks. well as i said in the other post i ended up being able to pay all my bills and buy a widescreen hdtv. worked out great and quiting my job was the best thing i did. haha. through that time i probably spent close to year playing 10-15 hours a day. i pretty much built up the first $1k on $5 and $10 sng's alone. I hadnt played many cash games at this point yet. I started playing more cash games after i had hit 1k. i read some more books and had did pretty good. Well i finished school and moved back to houston. I didnt have my bankroll anymore because i cashed it out and spent it. So i started just playing for fun online pretty much on partypoker with the intentions of building a br but i had a job so i wasnt too worried about a bankroll. I played on and off during 2006. around december 06 i started hearing a lot about sbrugby and what he has done and that inspired me. especially seeing them make more in one night then ill make in 3 years of working my job. so i decided to pick up another book read it then start up a new bankroll that i wouldnt take off for a long time. early jan 07 i put $30 on bodog and started from there. i ended up getting it to 1k then i cashed out to my neteller account so that i could reload it and pick up the bonus. well bad timing because neteller froze as we all know the same time i put my money in it. sucked. i was really pissed because turning $30 into 1k in a short period of time isnt that easy. i decided i would just cut my loss and not worry about getting that 1k back anytime soon. so i credited myself $150 to put on fulltilt. i started out playing 25nl shortstacking it. buying in for like $11 and leaving with like $80. I also one a $10 45 man sng so that bumped my br up nice. Once i got to $500 I started buying in for the max on 25nl until i was up to 1k. Then at 1k i started playing 50nl. Once i got to 2k i took a risk and sat $5/10 and got up to 4k. I plan to play each limit now until i beat it. playing within correct bankroll management. (20 x max buyin) playing out of your limits consitently or possibly just once will most likely lead to going broke. you might be good at poker but bad beats happen to the best of us. and if you cant handle loss you took form quad aces beating your quad q's then you will ultimately go broke. I will be blogging my way to highstakes for those who are interested. feel free to ask me questions or whatever. I hope that by the end of this I will be changing the topic of my blog to "how i turned $30 into $1 million.

| I currently am sitting at $3500 and will be playing a mix of $50nl, $100nl, and probably a few $200nl games. This all depends on how Im running and feeling tonight. I think it should be good. If you read my post from last night you would see that i was playing mostly $3/6 and $5/10. yes, i know that was really risky and way out my bankroll limits. I will be keeping myself off them for a while. I am currently reading a new book and its been great so far. sbrugby and those guys are where i wanna be and i have much respect for them. i look up to those guys big time and try to model my game after them. especially sbrugby. My goal for tonight is to be up atleast $250. I would like to be back at $4k by sunday. my short term goal is to just beat the diferent limits. going into a weekend ill usually aim to be up about $500 or so. I dont try to set my short term goals to high because i find myself getting impatient and playing around too much. my long term goal is $300k in 3 years and i think that is very feasible and not to high of a goal. I actually hope to be at 1 mil way before that but im not going to hold myself to it.

| i just wanted to add that some people may see my $3500 as nothing but you have to start some where. not all of us can be fortunate enough to start are bankrolls with $10k. i wish. shoot look at sbrugby, he started with $300 about two years ago and now has made probably around $1.4 million since january 07. my advise to anyone looking to play poker serious would be 1. to read some books. they really help you if you read the right ones. I wouldnt be where im at today if i hadnt read books. 2. practice as much as possible. playing a couple hours here and there will probably not be enough. I was fortunate to realize this while i was in college and could spend 15 hours a day playing. 3. bankroll management. as i said before it is key to building up your bankroll. sometimes you are just meant to win a hand and you dont want to lose your entire bankroll when this happens. 20 times the max buy in should be about what your bank roll should be to play those limits. alright guys its time to play...
