PokerJoker (2007-03-25)
Hi INeedYourMoney, thanks to replying to my PM (guess PMs not fully functional yet). What I wanted to know is whether you can you post your weekly, monthly, annual aspiriations now so I can track whether you hit your targets (or hopefully surpass them). I appreciate these may change depending on how things go but this will give me a "yardstick" as to how your initial thoughts on expected progress compare to your actual progress. I know the weekly targets will be difficult due to variance, but I would still like to track them. I saw a program on Chris "Jesus" Ferguson where he told the story of turning $1 into $20K (well 2 dolars as he lost the 1st one) and it was an absolutely fascinating insight into the world of online poker. I'm hoping your journey will be as spellbinding. Do you expect at some point you may encourage some outside "investment" for your project? One last thing, would you be willing to post your online ID or do you think that would make you a target for the idiots? Good luck for tonight, PJ. pokerjoker monthly playing 50nl, 100nl, and 200nl I would like to be up atleast $1k. With the lower limits I think this is possible. So far this year I have accomplished this. This month I am up about $1300. and in jan and feb im up about 1k each month. As I move up in limits I will adjust these numbers. Weekly i would like to be up about 250. Accomplishing this will put me at 1k per month. This weekend I ended up a $1300 winner. Although this weekend I have been repairing my bankroll after the horrible run i took on 5/10. last week. I wish i never did that and hope i learned my lesson. oh well all i can do is move on. Tomorrow I will post where my goals will be for the week. I havent done it yet cause i started this blog in the middle of the week. Yeah i heard about chris ferguson doing that. I think he was trying to do it again and I actually played him at $50nl on fulltilt a month ago maybe. I never really got a chance to get in a hand with him but he was running horrible though. he went broke on the table to some sick beats. I have also played quiet lion. (fulltilt pro) he is the guy who originally wrote ms word back in the day. He was sitting .75c/1.50 (deep 6) I did fairly well against him on both tables left the tables up about 300. Your question: "Do you expect at some point you may encourage some outside "investment" for your project?" - I dunno. I definately wont be asking for people to help me out. If someone wants to, then to be honest i wouldnt turn them down but thats the last thing on my mind right now and highly doubt it will happen. On a final note, I still have a lot of learning to do. I plan to continue to read books and practice. I think that doing this blog will help my game out because it will force me to analyze my game. If anyone has any advise or constructive criticism please share it with me. I would appreciate it. as i said before ive only been playing for about 2 years and im still learning new stuff every day.

| mondays blow lol So yeah im sitting here at work wishing I was playing poker! haha. especially when i just made my two week paycheck in a day. So after thinking about it all morning I think this week im going to work at really sticking to playing only 50nl and 100nl. The reason for this is that I want to review all of my stats with my brother and find the leaks in my game before i move up limits. I figure id rather do it now then when i get to higher stakes where im risking more. If i end up playing tonight it will only be for a few hours. with work so early in the morning its hard to stay up late playing. plus i need to go work out. Working out and drinking green tea helps keep me relaxed and i wont tilt near as hard if im running bad. I ended up great this weekend for low stakes that is. (about $1300) (sucks knowing thats a preflop bet for sbrugby haha) last night was funny though. i went to buffalo wild wings with my girlfriend and played and just owned everyone there. its funny playing random donks who all think they are good. haha. what they didnt know was i just got done playing about 25 hours or more over the weekend so i was pretty warmed up to play. too bad it was only for play money but still fun to see how i compare to those guys now. On the agenda for this week: I dont really have any set numbers to post this week for my goal except to get as close to 4k as possible. I figure this weekend coming up ill be over it. besides that im just going to focus on reading the rest of this book and analyzing my game for leaks.

Sounds like a good idea, using pokertracker/pokeroffice is also a very good strategy to find leaks in your games / Mr_lol

Sounds like a good idea, using pokertracker/pokeroffice is also a very good strategy to find leaks in your games / Mr_lol Ive got poker tracker already running.. im waiting untill i get 20k hands logged. i think that number should be significant enough to find some leaks in my game and ive probably got around 19k in there already. also ill start posting some hand history's soon. I ended up playing for about an hour last night and ended up only a $60 winner. eh for low stakes i guess thats alright. I think its real important for me to stay patient while working towards playing high stakes. putting to much pressure on myself or setting my expectations too high at first will only cause me to get impatient and play out of my limits risking more than i should. two things will come from that. go broke or go home a huge winner. dont get me wrong though when im feeling my game is 100% and im running hot I will take a little risk and sit higher limits. only when i dont care about losing the buy in though. I was reading a thread about this guy who put $100 on party and got all the way up to like $25k in one night. just sick. On the flip side i was reading another thread of a donk who started with $400 on ftp and got to over $50k in one night. then proceeded to piss it away to sbrugby and them on $200/400nl. that had to hurt bad. well I have a decent bankroll for low limits right now to work with and dont plan on going broke anytime soon. If i play it right ill be sitting highstakes eventually. i feel that for the most part its just a classic case of the tortoise and the hair.
