Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane is a relative newcomer to the highstakes scene having only really graduated to the top flight PLO tables in 2011. The 23 year old English pro first made the headlines when he managed to simultaniously final table two SCOOP PLO events last May, winning the $5k 6max PLO event for $170,000 and taking close to $20,000 for his final table appearance in the $500 PLO event.
The London based PLO specialist (and neurosciene graduate) has since gone from strength to strenth having worked his way up from the lowest PLO limits three years ago to being the leading money earner at the PokerStars tables in 2011 with close to $1.9 million won so far this year. While he may have had a rough ride in the early part of the year at Full Tilt's nosebleed tables he is still one of the years biggest winners with a total profit of $1.3million.
His heads up battles with Isildur1 at PokerStars in 2011 really cemented Cochrane's reputation as a force to be reckoned with, participating in some classic encounters including a truly memorable $600,000 winning session at $100/$200 PLO back in February.
His biggest online hand to date however was vs Scott "urnotindangr" Palmer at a $100/$200 6 max table for a little over $150,000 gavz101's flopped straight beats urnotindangr's pocket Ace's with nut flush re-draw.
