Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen is the latest in a long line of standout Finnish poker pros that includes Patrik Antonius, Ilari FIN, Sami “LrsLzk” Kelopuro and Jani Vilmunen.
HighStakesDB first started tracking Jeans89 at the beginning of 2011, and he initially got off to a somewhat rocky start after losing $39k. However, the losing stopped after this point since he won over $260k in February. Over the spring and summer, the 21-year-old earned another $540k, and now has $672k in total winnings at PokerStars.
Many people also know Kyllönen under his Full Tilt screen name “Ingenious89,” which is where he first gained international poker fame. Unfortunately, the fame and winnings took a while since he lost over $388k from May, 2010 to March, 2011. But April is when Ingenious89 really took off since he earned around $1.4 million, which includes one of the top days in online poker history.
The huge day occurred on April 22nd as Ingenious89 won over $1 million in $300/$600 PLO action. Going further, he won a huge $255,697 pot while playing against “Andreas "skjervoy" Torbergsen. With $16,800 in the pot on a flop of Kc-10d-6c, Ingenious89 bet $12,600, and skjervoy called. The turn came up 5d, and Ingenious89 bet $42,300 while skjervoy pushed all-in with $106,799. After Kyllönen called, he flipped over Ac-7s-6d-Ad and skjervoy showed 2s-As-Kh-Tc; the river was 3d, and Ingenious89 won with an ace-high diamond flush. Including the huge hand and $1 million session, Ingenious89 has earned over $843k in total winnings on Full Tilt Poker.
In addition to his excellent online poker success, Kyllönen has made an additional $1.36 million in live tournament winnings; this includes a 2009 PokerStars EPT Scandinavian title ($1,120,815), and a 12th place finish in the 2009 EPT Barcelona ($57,225).
