Phil Galfond is an American poker professional born in 1985 in North Potomac, Maryland. He is also one of Tom Dwan’s friends. A puzzling thing about Galfond was his exclusion from Tom Dwan’s $1 million challenge, which the New Jersey Wonderkid issued to the entire professional poker world, with his lone exception. Experts have since concluded that Dwan just didn’t want to end up battling him and possibly taking money from a friend.
