Joey "jcl87" Lawrence is an Australian Poker player from Sydney.
Lawrence started playing poker after graduating high school in 2005, the same year fellow Australian Joe Hachem won the WSOP. Poker grew quickly in Australia after his win, this happened during the Poker Boom, but Hachem sure was a big contributor to Poker popularity in the land down under.
In 2005 "everyone" wanted to play tournaments, Lawrence started off his carrier with tourneys in local pubs and then later small stakes SNG's on Party poker. After reading Brunson's Poker Bible, "Super System", Lawrence proceeded to become a small stakes NLHE player instead.
On PokerStars Lawrence plays NLHE up to $200/$400 but usually a bit lower. His biggest success to date is taking down the $10K High Roller title and $402K on Stars in December 2011.
When not playing Poker, Lawrence has a degree in Law and is also a instructor for CardRunners. Here's a video on NLHE with deep stacks.
