Revolution gaming only officially opened for business at the beginning of June 2012 as the Lock Poker led organisation acquired the network formerly known as "Cake". The network has over twenty poker rooms on its books including big names like Lock Poker, Cake Poker, ComeOn and Intertops.
Depending on whether the skins accept US players or not (not all do), they hold their licenses in different jurisdictions, such as Malta or Kahnawake. Many of the skins also offer casino and sportsbetting in addition to poker.
Revolution Network Traffic
The new network certainly gained traffic after the acquisition with Lock Poker bringing a lot more traffic (including US traffic) and is currently the third largest open network in the world after overtaking Merge following the migration of Lock with a daily peak of around 2,000 cash game players.
Revolution Rakeback and Bonuses
Sign up bonuses are strong for Revolution gaming sites, some offering 200% up to $4000, released at a rate of $5 per $60 raked. There are also good VIP programmes in place with varying levels of VIP depending on your volume of play and rake contributed. Cashback earned from these programmes can add up to additional 19% rakeback on top of the standard 36% rakeback you will receive as a Revolution Gaming customer, regardless of which skin you choose to sign up with. Rates of VIP point redemption are 7 VIP points for every $1 raked in tournaments.
Rake accrued in cash games is not quite so straightforward as Revolution currently use a "dealt" rake system whereby every player dealt a hand is rewarded an equal share of points/rakeback regardless of their contribution. This system heavily favours tight players (read good players), especially multi-tablers. With up to 55% rakeback available when the traditional rakeback and VIP cashback are combined this adds up to a fine rewards programme.
Revolution Gaming Network Game Variants and Stakes
As you would expect on a major poker network pretty much all the chief variants of poker are available in cash game format including Hold'Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi Low, Stud, Draw and H.O.R.S.E. You can play from micro stakes ($0.02/$0.04) up to high stakes. There are $500/$100 tables available in the NLHE format and $300/$600 for PLO although you are unlikely to see play go much beyond $50/$100 and even those games are few and far between.
There are plenty of sit and go's and scheduled tournaments, from freeroll, through to tournaments at less than $1 entry all the way up to $5,500. There are standard sit and go's turbo and hyper turbo from heads up up to full ring, kamikaze and shootouts. There are also plenty of guaranteed tournaments and satellites to both online and live events.
Software Options
The software at Revolution is both mac and pc compatible. With extensive array of customization options. The tabbed lobby and filtering check boxes allow players to quickly find their favorite types of games, easily sorted by a number of cash game or tournament details. Players may also choose from a large selection of avatars, or upload a custom image from their hard drive.
