Gourdy Scoops the Global Poker Eagle Cup Tournament of Champions

Pennsylvanias Gourdy took down the Global Poker Tournament of Champions last night, scooping the $5000 live tournament package top prize as the Eagle Cup came to a dramatic finale…

The Tournament of Champions brought together the best of the best from the preceding three weeks of Eagle Cup Championship battles, winners and runner-ups combining for the big money showdown.

The chance to don the Global Poker colours at a live event was the ultimate goal, and the final table looked like this as the remaining nine took their seats – at least one player streaming the action…

ChefWillPoker bowed out first, the North Carolina man’s deep run worth SC$250 and the retired chef was followed to the rail by the aptly-named TheDish14.

With big money at stake as well as the tournament package, the action came thick and fast, Kentucky’s TJonesPoker cashing in 6th place for SC$550, having qualified last month by taking down the SC$25k Eagle Cup SC$25k Medium Deep title.

There could be only one left standing, of course, and when Gourdy’s pocket jacks held up against Croosy’s overcards, the Tournament of Champions trophy was heading to Pennsylvania…

Gourdy will now be looking at where he should spend the $5000 live tournament package money, previous winners taking the opportunity to head to Vegas!
