Anatoly Filatov Wins Caribbean Poker Party $10k High Roller For $280,000

Anatoly Filatov struck first for the home team at the Caribbean Poker Party, the Team partypoker pro taking down the $10k partypoker LIVE MILLIONS High Roller for a $280,000 payday.

Filatov was among a field of 122 entries that had been whittled down to just 22 by the start of day three, Bosnian-Canadian Ema Zajmovic taking the first of the paid spots in 17th place.

By the time the final table had been reached, Chance Kornuth bubbling, the players at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas were guaranteed $40k, Californian software engineer Kristina Holst perhaps the least likely name at a stacked table.

Holst’s excellent tilt at the title came to a halt in 3rd when she ran into Filatov, the partypoker man by this time wielding a huge stack and his J♠ J♣ held up against the American’s A♣ J♦.

That left Filatov facing Uruguay’s Fabrizio Gonzalez heads-up, a 4.5:1 chip lead proving too hard for the South American to pull back.

The final hand was a pleasant departure from the usual all-in and off to the races that often decides such events, a button limp taking us to a flop…
