Phil Ivey Cashes as Daniel Dvoress lands $25k Short Deck Victory

Daniel Dvoress took down the partypoker LIVE CPP $25k Short Deck title last night to add to his $4million SHRB victory of a few days ago, with Phil Ivey popping up to add to his own recent Short Deck run of cashes.

By: Andrew Burnett

Ivey, who cashed 5-times for a total of over $1.6million at the recent WSOP Europe in Rozvadov, was one of 45 entries for the 36-card variant at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas.

Reaching the final table yesterday, he was joined by the 2018 WSOP champ John Cynn, Ike 'Hollywood' Haxton, Malaysia’s Chin Wei Lim – who grabbed the Diamond High Roller title worth $2.4million in Rozvadov - and the Triton Montenegro Main Event champ, Hong Konger Danny Chi Tang.

The US trio were the first to fall, Ivey taking 4th place for $126,250, although given his recent troubles there’s no telling how much of that is his to keep.

When Lim fell in 3rd for $175,000, Tang was the only player left standing between Dvoress and a second win, the Canadian proving unstoppable and lifting the $375,000 top prize, Tang’s runner-up spot worth $250,000.

Final results

1 Daniel Dvoress $375,000
2 Danny Tang $250,000
3 Chin Wei Lim $175,000
4 Phil Ivey $126,250
5 Isaac Haxton $95,000
6 John Cynn $70,000
