partypoker Launch 'Best-in-Class' Mobile Poker Overhaul

partypoker have just launched the first phase of its ground-breaking mobile poker application overhaul, the site aiming to produce a best-in-class experience for players and introducing a new social-friendly currency called Diamonds

The mobile app revamp is ‘set to revolutionise the way players play poker on the go’, according to partypoker, and has already been through a thorough Beta-testing phase at the hands of the site’s Team Pro and Team Online members.

Team partypoker’s Brazilian online crusher João Simão was one of the first to try out the new product and stated: “I had the pleasure to be part of the test team of the new mobile app and gave my feedback to try to improve the beta version.
It was a great surprise when I got to test, and I’m sure that you will all love it. I saw the team working hard to create an app that gives the best experience for our customers, and I’m confident that it will be the result. I hope you guys enjoy.”

The app features some revolutionary changes, including a new portrait layout that supports one-handed gameplay, something that appealed hugely to Team Online star Jaime Staples.

“This app brings poker on your phone into the modern age,” said Jaime, adding: “The experience of just being able to play with one finger is something I have never had the chance to experience before. It's so simple and intuitive! It's by far the best poker app I have played on my phone. So simple to use and fun!”

Included in the first phase of what partypoker say will ‘serve as a major company focus over the coming months’ are a number of new and improved features, including a brand-new SPINS interface.

SPINS redesigned

Boasting a redesigned lobby, improved search functions to find your preferred games, as well as multiplier animation enhancements, you will also be able to select up to four games at once (of the same buy-in) and register immediately.

On top of this, you can now switch between a carousel or tiled view, and partypoker Head of Product, Ross McQuater, states: “The new SPINS product shows our commitment to improving the mobile experience for our customers".
McQuater added: “The new lobby and portrait table for SPINS with new and exciting features, such as the ability to throw things at opponents and view rabbit cards, aims to provide our customers with a more fun and engaging playing experience".

Diamonds and Rabbits

As stated in the intro, ‘Diamonds’ are the new social-friendly currency on partypoker’s mobile app, and are earned based on the number of hands played by a player.

They are used to buy ‘in-game’ benefits, so you can, for example, throw items at your opponents! Animated sounds complement the throws, which will cost you one diamond per go.

You can also use them to indulge in that most reprehensible of live poker no-no’s, rabbit hunting! The innovative idea allows you to pay to see what might have happened if the remaining cards had been dealt.

Hand replayer comes to mobile

A long-time staple of online poker, the new hand replayer function comes to partypoker’s mobile app for the first time and is sure to be a most-welcome addition.

The overhaul includes a number of other features, such as:

  • Bubble chat
  • Tiling 4 tables at once
  • Emojis’ All-in animations
  • Enhanced dialogues, such as announcing tournament winners

For Team Online’s Jeff Gross, the Beta-testing experience was an eye-opener: “This app changes the poker experience for the user in a big way. Mobile poker tech has been archaic, and this makes you really say WOW when you play it. Refreshing and fun, the biggest shake-up in poker I have seen in a long time!”
