The three-day event for the big boys and girls attracted 44 entries, producing a €2,134,440 prizepool with many of the world’s leading highstakes pros chasing the €¾million top prize.

The English trio of Chidwick, Ben Heath and Sam Grafton were joined by the Canadian trio of Sam Greenwood, Daniel Dvoress and Timothy Adams.

The end of day two saw Seth Davies bust on the money bubble, leaving the remaining six players to return today for the final table, guaranteed at least €149,410.

A short-stacked Ben Heath fell very quickly when he lost a race to Frenchman Jean-Noel Thorel, who himself was ousted in 5th spot after the following cooler drastically reduced his stack when he snap-called Chidwick’s river shove…

Then Steve O'Dwyer found himself facing Chidwick’s pocket aces, his eights failing to improve meaning 4th place and €245,460, and that was followed by the exit of Spanish crusher Adrian Mateos.

Mateos was looking for a remarkable 4th win in a row, having taken down the partypoker MILLIONS Main Event and SHR last month in the Bahamas, and adding the EPT €10k title just a couple of days ago in Prague.

Although ahead against Chidwick pre-flop, the turn hit the Englishman and the river couldn’t save the Spanish pro, his €320,170 cash bringing him within $25k of the $20million career milestone.

Grospelier started out well behind in chips but fought back strongly, a ding-dong battle ensuing that was finally settled in Chidwick’s favour when the turn once again favoured the Englishman.
