Alexandre Reard wins EPT €2,200 EPT National High Roller for €342,810

Frenchman Alexandre Reard took down the EPT Prague National High Roller yesterday, scooping the €342,810 top prize after defeating Italian Luigi D Alterio heads-up…

A field of 980 runners produced a prizepool of €1,862,400, all playing a rapid two-day event that included the likes of Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom, Sam Grafton and partypoker Team pro Kristen Bicknell in the money.

None of this illustrious trio could trouble the final table stages, however, with the final nine assured of a €25k+ cash, the top four looking at 6-figure paydays.

Croatia’s Josip Vidovic was the first to hit that pay level, €109,510, a tad unlucky that his dominating ace ran into Reard hitting the flop and river with his kicker for trips.

Reard, on a bit of a heater recently, also saw the board hit him hard when he disposed of Israel’s Lior Tal in 3rd for €145,830, leaving him heads-up against Luigi D'Alterio for the title.

With the Italian short-stacked, it didn’t last long – all the chips going in on the flop…

Flop: 9♥ 7♥ 4♦

…the players tabling…

Reard: 10♥ 9♦
D'Alterio: 10♠ 7♠

Turn: 2♠
River: A♥

That was enough to give Reard his third victory of 2019 and his biggest-ever cash – just topping his 2017 WSOP Main Event run to 16th place.

Final Table Results

1 Alexandre Reard €342,810
2 Luigi D'Alterio €207,840
3 Lior Tal €145,830
4 Josip Vidovic €109,510
5 Jose Quintas €84,740
6 Christoforos Chrysochoidis €62,390
