Chin Wei Lim wins EPT Prague €25k HR for €378,160

Malaysias Chin Wei Lim took down the EPT Prague €25k Single Day High Roller last night, winning €378,160 ($420,321) and continuing a sun-run that has seen him cash for almost $7.5million in the past four months alone…

By: Andrew Burnett

The fifty entries included Bryn Kenney, Rainer Kempe and Adrian Mateos, though none of this trio would cash, and by the time Scott Margerson bust on the money bubble it was a mixed bag of crushers and relative unknowns who made up the final table.

Austrian-based Chinese pro Yang Wang was first to fall, his 7th place worth €63,020, and he was followed to the exit by Moldovan Pavel Plesuv, 6th spot good for €78,035. That left five players staring at 6-figure cashes, though Eibinger at least had fired two bullets to get this far.

Short-stacked Japanese player Jun Obara lost out to Lim’s pocket queens, hitting the rail in 5th for €102,040, and he was joined by Canadian highstakes beast Timothy Adams – falling in 4th for €132,055.

Eibinger called a Lim all-in only to find himself dominated and drawing to a king or clubs, which never materialised, his 3rd place cash of €174,070 still a tidy profit for his day’s work.

That left Lim facing Dutchman Jorryt van Hoof for the title, and it came down to a traditional race after Lim’s limp-shove was called, and when the door card appeared it was close to all over…
