There were several big names running deep yesterday as the highstakes Sunday grind hit the money stages, with Dan 'Junglemandan' Cates vying with the anonymous crushers on partypoker and xxMonsterxxDongxx swinging his way to an ACR win.

Let’s start with the US-facing Americas CardRoom, big boss Phil Nagy much in the news this week after calling for a summit of all the major online rooms to discuss the way forward.

For the site’s faithful it was business as usual, however, with 247 entries to the $1050 buy-in Sunday $200k GTD, adding some $47k to the prizepool.

Thirty-six players made the money, with the top six all grabbing 5-figure payouts, NYCBanker making a 10x ROI in 6th spot.

MyLiFeIsPoTaTo cashed again in 5th, and when GanbianBeef and CheekySleek shared almost $50k for 4th and 3rd respectively, it was heads-up for the ACR victory between two of the site’s biggest winners, LETSFKNGO and xxMonsterxxDongxx.

The pair battled it out for close to $90k and ‘best name’, with the win eventually going to xxMonsterxxDongxx – a $50,511 scoop, with LETSFKNGO taking $37,050 as runner-up.

The $215 Sunday Special did its usual guarantee-busting routine, with 879 entries adding $50k to the prizepool, a whopping $175k up for grabs.

LappyPoker, aka Justin Taylor Lapka, couldn’t quite recreate his victory of a couple of weeks ago, this time 6th place and a $7,383 cash, while ACR reg StannisLives finished 5th for $9,141.

The Sunday Special title this week came down to heads-up between CPUrul0r and amaro1967, and the former grabbed his chnace when it came to lift the $32,259 top prize, $23,029 going to the runner-up.

Meanwhile, over on partypoker, the $5200 buy-in Sunday Big Game topped the billing, the big players out in force to add $169k to the $500k guarantee.

Among those running deep were the usual suspects onehundredeyez, CalmDownMan and Junglemandan, the latter Daniel Cates who this week has been making headlines for calling out Tom Dwan and a spiritual journey to India.

Watch out for a special coming soon on Jungleman’s mindcoach, and Cates’ 8th spot yesterday for $20k is a sign that he’s in the mood for the Galfond Challenge match on the horizon.

The top two were looking at 6-figure cashes when they met heads-up, BlueMagic1 and GimmeHummus also staring at a $43k difference between 1st and 2nd.

GimmeHummus took it down, the $153,850 score the biggest of the weekend, and a not-to-be-sneezed-at $110,418 for BlueMagic1 in 2nd place.

The $1050 buy-in HighRoller Sunday Masters was also on the agenda for the big boys and girls of partypoker, an extra 1/3rd in the prizefund as 133 entries appeared.

partypoker highstakes MTT regs NewYorkJimmy, El_Cucuy, Greenstone25 and sims_or_sins all made it to the money, with StrawberryGirl a new name among the elite, a 4th place and $11,305 just reward for a deep run.

Heads-up between Brachiosaurus and the proofreader’s nightmare, kgroqigmqtbmq, saw a deal – the former taking 2nd and $25,390 with ‘the unpronounceable’ taking the Masters title and $27,130.

That’s it for another Sunday round-up, but we’ll be back again next Monday with the best of the online MTT Action. In the meantime, good luck at the tables!
