Jorryt Van Hoof and Ole Schemion Among Big SCOOP Winners

PokerStars annual Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is well underway and some of the biggest names in the game have already bagged titles, including Jorryt Van Hoof, Ole Schemion and Artur Martirosyan.

Jorryt 'TheCleaner11' van Hoof was there or thereabouts for most of the recent Poker Masters Online series on partypoker, and he made a quick start to his SCOOP schedule by taking down event 2 for $176,104.

The $2100 buy-in 8-max PKO attracted 575 entries and it came down to an all-Dutch heads-up battle for the crown, with Van Hoof facing compatriot 0m3rta.

‘TheCleaner’ did exactly that, hoovering up a massive $87k in Bounty payments – almost matching his fellow final tablists combined - to double his winnings.

England’s Benny 'RunGodlike' Glaser joined a host of poker legends in the all-time SCOOP winners list by bagging his 5th title in event 6, a $54,854 victory in the $2,100 buy-in 8-Game.

Glaser is now in equal 3rd lifetime alongside the likes of Luke 'lb6121' Schwartz and Rui 'RuiNF' Ferreira, with Calvin 'cal42688' Anderson still way out front with 10 SCOOP wins.

Ole 'wizowizo' Schemion was $111,853 richer after winning event 16, the High version of the PLO 6-max with a $2100 buy-in.

A tough final table saw Bengt 'pkrbt' Sonnert and Max 'goodeh' Silver deep in the money, and Laszlo 'omaha4rollz' Bujtas provided the heads-up opposition for Schemion, the Hungarian crusher having to settle for second-best and $82,910.

The 17th event on the 80-tournament, $85million GTD series saw another highstakes beast fighting off illustrious rivals, Russia’s Artur 'mararthur1' Martirosyan taking down the $10k 8-max NLHE High Roller for $271,790.

Jorryt 'TheCleaner11 van Hoof' was aiming for another big title but eventually fell in 3rd, leaving Martirosyan to deal with the modern-day legend of Fedor 'CrownUpGuy' Holz.

Holz would have to be content with 2nd spot and $210,580 this time though, with Martirosyan landing the SCOOP title.
