A total of 98 entries to the $25k buy-in SHR produced a prizepool of $2,450,000, with the top six all looking at 6-figure payouts.

By the end of day one the field had been whittled down to just eight candidates, with two Finnish hopefuls - Pauli Äyräs and Elias Talvitie – looking to add to their Poker Masters Online titles from last month.

Äyräs recent run of great from could only bring him the 8th place prizemoney of $79,625 this time however, and Chris 'Big Huni' Hunichen was the other player to miss out on the six-figure paycheques in 7th spot.

Wiktor Malinowski added another final table to his $5200 High Roller appearance earlier in the week, improving slightly on his 7th place finish with a 6th yesterday, good for $122,500.

Arsenii Karmatckii bagged 5th place and a $159,250 cash, followed to the rail by Ivan Galinec in 4th for $214,375.

There was to be no title double for Talvitie, although his 3rd place and $306,250 cements his place among the very best of the recent online highstakes MTT players.

Heads-up took almost as long as getting there, an hour-long battle between Carrel and Imsirovic that came down to a single brutal river card, Englishman Carrel the one officially at risk although his Bosnian-American opponent barely had him covered.

Flopping a full house, the SHR title looked almost certain to go Imsirovic’s way, but poker can be very cruel at times…
