Elio Fox wins WPT Online $25k SHR for $565,500

Elio Fox bagged the 2nd biggest win of the WPT Online series so far by taking down the $25k Super High Roller for a $565,500 payday, seeing off a stacked final table on partypoker…

With 87 entries there was a $2,175,000 prizepool up for grabs, and that would mean 13 players in the money - but it wouldn’t include illustrious names such as Andras Nemeth, Viktor Blom or Fedor Holz.

Team partypoker pros Ludovic Geilich, Kahle Burns and David Peters also missed out, as did Mikita Badziakouski, while Ilya Anatski was the unfortunate bubble victim.

Juan Pardo Dominguez would lead the overnight chip stacks after Sam Greenwood bubbled the final table, the remaining octet assured of at least $75k.

Back for day two and the big prize up top would be second only to Charlie Carrel’s $600k payday in the first $25k SHR last week.

It wouldn’t be going to either Chris Hunichen or Tim Adams, however, finishing 7th and 6th respectively and either side of the 6-figure payouts.

Ireland’s Mark Davies landed a 5th place cash of $152,250, and when the Finnish pair of Samuel Vousden and Pauli Äyräs fell in 4th and 3rd (pocketing $195,750 and $282,750) we were heads-up for the title.

Domingues had led Fox slightly in the overnight chip counts, but the roles were reversed in the mano-a-mano battle, Fox taking down the win for $565,500, with Dominguez having to settle for a massive runner-up cheque of $402,375.
