Carrel Lifts Another Big Title while Holz and Gross Come Close in Huge Online Sunday Action

Amidst the many, varied and mostly extended big festivals running over the past few weeks, the regular Sunday highstakes grind was still showing its fair share of players, and it saw a near-miss for both Fedor Holz and partypokers Jeff Gross in the Big Game…

The $5200 buy-in weekly highroller attracted 265 entries, meaning an extra $280k or so above the $1million guarantee and $¼million up top.

KingofScotland was in the money, a $19,883 share of the spoils for finishing 10th, while OmarsComing grabbed a $50,029 payout for 6th.

All eyes were on the duo of Fedor 'Fedor_Holz' Holz, recently signed to GGPoker as an ambassador, and Jeff 'JeffGross' Gross, the popular TwitchTV streamer and commentator who joined partypoker last spring.

It wasn’t quite a two-horse race, though, as partypoker highstakes reg LittleRussia was still in the mix – and the anonymous pro who took down a huge POWERFEST title in March this year spoiled the party for the big-name pros yet again.

Gross fell in 3rd, a huge $129,564 score, and then Holz had to settle for 2nd-best, an otherwise impressive $184,725 cash.

That meant the $255,280 top prize was heading to LittleRussia, already making it a 2020 to remember.

The Daily Deepstack PLO was on the menu as well, the $1050 buy-in 4-card special seeing a $47k prizepool with the top six making the money.

French pro Fabrice Soulier missed out in 12th spot, and ChimneyBarrel bubbled the cash, with the heads-up battle seeing DR.Summer69 and NILAos fighting for a share of $30k.

It was NILAos who came through to lift the PLO title and $18,800, with the runner-up taking $12,029.

Meanwhile, over on ACR, there was also some 4-card action going down in the Sunday Special PLO, some 214 entries to the $215 buy-in event creating a $42,800 prizefund.

The top 36 made the money, and it was bubblebubble who avoided his nickname for the first 4-figure cash in 8th spot, with a famous name making it to 3rd place and a $4,387 cash - M.Phelps possibly the Olympic champion swimmer who is know to grace the poker tables.

Heads-up saw ACR reg DADuhWEEwah take down drwagle17 for the win and an $8,988 cash, the runner-up pocketing just shy of $6k for a fine run.

The $215 buy-in NLHE version of the Sunday Special smashed its $125k guarantee, 1124 entries adding $99k to it and ensuring a top 5 of five-figure scores.

KITTY_KUO managed 17th spot and a $1,348 cash while TRUMPING_YOU made it to 8th place for $4,496, with IamARABIC taking the first $20k+ cash in 3rd spot.

That left mcd88 and bluffer1981 heads-up, and it was bluffer who took down the win, a big $40,464 cash with 2nd place worth $29,224.

PokerStars is deep into SCOOP territory and we’ll throw in a couple of the results here, with Charlie Carrel adding a 3rd SCOOP title to his resume.

The $530 NLHE PKO pulled in 2112 entries, the prizepool topping the $1million mark and there were huge Bounty payments on the line as the final table progressed.

Scotland’s Ludovic 'ludovi333' Geilich bagged $16,032 to go with his 5th place prize of $20,340 and 3rd placed HUMAN PIOSOLVER added a similar amount to the regular prize of $40,029.

Heads-up saw Carrel battling it out with Owain 'Sngwonder' Carey, the Englishman fresh off a $600k win in the WPT Online series on partypoker.

It was victory again for the highroller specialist, Carrel’s $67,468 share of 1st and 2nd topped up with a massive $43,912 in bounties, with Carey adding $19,840 to his cut of the loot.
