The 91 entries to the $25k NLHE tournament produced a $2,275,000 prizepool and the final six would all take home 6-figure scores, Jake Schindler ‘missing out’ when he fell in 7th for $91,000.

Next to go was Finland’s Elvis Talvitie, the overnight chip leader unable to gather any momentum at the final table and eventually finishing 6th for $113,750.

Ireland’s John O’Shea continued a good run for his small nation in the big buy-in events, his 5th place and $159,250 following on from Mark Davies’ similar finish and cash in the 2nd SHR of the series at the weekend.

Rob Lipkin landed his biggest-ever payday of $204,750 for a 4th place run and England’s Luke Reeves pocketed $295,750 to continue his fine recent form, with another cash yesterday in the Championship.

That left Dan Smith facing Daniel Dvoress heads-up – the latter having battled back from a 6 big blind stack to make the title showdown.

Discretion proved the better part of valour however and the duo chopped the money, Smith taking an extra $100k to pocket $555,504 and the title, with Dvoress’ runner-up spot worth $456,871.

Final results

1 Dan Smith $555,504

4 Rob Lipkin $204,750

As mentioned, the Championship has been reduced from 2130 entries to just 35, Sam Greenwood topping the chip counts as they enter day 3, with the first prize set at $1,048,088 from a $6,390,000 prizepool.
