Alexandru Papazian wins the Big Game and Sunday Seoul Winners Celebrate in Huge Sunday Grind

Another massive Sunday grind is in the bag with huge prizemoney handed out on partypoker, guarantees smashed on ACR and the HighStakes Sunday Seoul series back in action…

We’ll start off as usual with the biggest cash of the day – excluding the SHRB and other big online series – and that was in partypoker’s Big Game, a $240,000 scoop for Alexandru Papazian.

The UK-based Romanian was among a field of 235 in the $5200 buy-in tournament, the deep end of which was stacked with huge names – Timothy Adams, Mike Watson, Ben Heath and Linus Loeliger all in contention.

The real name event saw no less than 5 Canadian flags flying in the top dozen, although the leading player among them was Texan pro Jonathan Apestyles Van Fleet – finishing in 5th spot for $65k.

England’s Heath took 4th for $92k and Loeliger 3rd for a hefty $124k to add to his SHRB success yesterday, leaving Alexandru Papazian to battle it out heads-up with Ole Schemion for Big Game top dog status.

Schemion was fresh off a SCOOP High Roller victory on PokerStars, but he couldn’t add a partypoker crown to go with it – eventually settling for 2nd and a $174,910 payout.

Papazian, Romania’s all-time moneywinner who also boasts a WSOP gold bracelet, took the win and $240,975.

Four-card action on the red diamond site saw 202 entries to the $1050 buy-in PLO Phased final, with $50k awaiting the winner.

partypoker duo Jeff 'JeffGross' Gross and Ludovic 'Gr4vyBo4t' Geilich – the Scotsman another big SHRB winner this past week – were both in the money.

The first 5-figure score went to C Nugs with $12,246 for 5th place, while the title came down to a heads-up match between rutikoyha007 and youngvk.

The James Bond fan won out to bag the top prize of $50,836.

Over on HighStakes it was time for the Sunday Seoul, where 93% of the fields had qualified through 720 freerolls with another 100 seats handed out in the Saturday qualifying the day before.

This meant that hardened pros such as Bryan 'BOOMSWITCH' Paris and highstakes cash game player Pepperhype were facing a cast of regs and recs, and they didn’t have it all their own way.

The €109 Seoul Freezeout boasted a €10k guarantee and the 10-hour+ battle came down to a heads-up fight between ButlamBetter and Pinkers999, where the former bagged the €3000 top prize.

The €535 buy-in High Roller saw bigdog18 bag his second win of the day, edging out Tulx to take the €6235 top prize, the runner-up pocketing €3480.

Paris, aka BOOMSWITCH, is one of the few players to have made more than $10million in online MTTs, but yesterday he had to settle for 5th and 10th place cashes, the latter in the €109 Seoul Re-entry, won by paulin9996 for €3000.

The €109 Seoul Supersonic saw Pepperhype’s best run of the day, taking 2nd place for €1050, with fergberger taking the title and €1800 with the entire tournament done and dusted in less than 2 hours.

Meanwhile, Americas CardRoom were still smashing their guarantees this weekend, the Sunday Special some $110k over its $125k GTD, with 1176 runners.

Sauvage81 took the first of five 5-figure payouts, and it was long-time ACR reg jsmith84 who took down the win for $42,336, having just posted a horror graph a few hours previously!

There was even bigger money up for grabs in the $200k GTD, the prizepool topping out at $359k with 359 runners.

StannisLives and PGAfan52 were in the money yet again, but the win went to someone who doesn’t need it apparently, 2rich2care bagging the $69,466 top prize after defeating RunTheKarma heads-up.

That’s it for another bumper Sunday at the online MTT tables, but we’ll be back next week with all the best of the action across the biggest sites.
