This weekend saw some huge wins at the online tables, but a mixed bag when it came to what the online poker sites drew in – guarantees smashed and overlays depending on where you look!

Thomas Mühlöcker was Sunday’s biggest winner, the Austrian taking down partypoker’s Big Game for a whopping $203,900 ahead of a stacked field.

The $5200 buy-in regular Sunday highstakes event suffered a slight hangover from the mass of recent series’, though, not quite reaching its $1million guarantee for the first time in what feels like forever.

Highstakes ‘amateur’ Dan Shak made it to the paid spots, 12th place and $17,800, following on from his excellent 5th place and $325k at the recent SHRB Online.

Viktor Malinowski, Ali Imsirovic and Luke Reeves were all deep in the mix, as was Canadian Daniel Dvoress, also coming off recent SHRB Online success. He couldn’t quite match his $600k+ SHR win, but 3rd spot and $105,500 was a tasty enough dessert.

That left Mühlöcker facing Teun Mulder heads-up, and the Dutchman had to settle for second best, a $148,000 cash behind the Austrian who pocketed $203,900 for the win.

Four-card action on partypoker saw 167 entries to the $1050 buy-in PLO Phased tournament, Scotland’s partypoker pro Ludovic 'Gr4vyBo4t' Geilich taking 10th for $4000.

Up top was more than $50k and that saw chess, or simply Italian, fan Giuoco Piano enjoying the ‘quiet game’ against SmbCali911, the pair deciding discretion was the better part of valour and chopping for just over $40k each.

Over on Americas CardRoom the numbers seemed to be increased if anything, the $125k GTD Sunday Special attracting 1356 entries at $215 apiece, making the prizepool a monster $271,200.

ACR reg DamianLillard was in the big money yet again, a 4th place finish worth almost $19k for the basketball fan, with dragon350z taking 3rd and $25k plus change.

Heads-up saw LeetRunGoot back in the winner’s circle, defeating  CPUrul0r to bag the $46,809 top prize, the runner-up spot worth a very healthy $33,900.

The $200k GTD, one of ACR’s favourite highstakes Sunday tournaments, with a $1050 buy-in, drew in 362 entries – not too far off doubling the guarantee.

Jake11291 was the first player to take down a 5-figure score, in 7th spot for $12,308, and MARCUSBAGWELL lived up to his nickname yet again with a $20k+ run to 5th place.

The title deciding heads-up battle saw Aaron 'aaronmermel' Mermelstein overcome ZackThornton, which meant a $70k scoop for the Philly-born, Florida resident pro.

On the back of their biggest-ever SCOOP, yesterday saw PokerStars launch their Summer Series, but it was a celebrity appearance by Neymar Jr that grabbed the spotlight.

The Brazilian footballing legend is well-known for his love of poker, and he bagged a very respectable 7th place and $3,663 in the HRC Sunday Cooldown.

Another Brazilian, GeraldoCesar took the win in the KO event, adding $21k of bounties to his $15k regular prizemoney, having defeated papan9_p$ heads-up – that 2nd place worth close to $18k in total.

Elsewhere on the red spade’s Sunday schedule, WhoisICM was one of several lower-stakes players who satellited into the Summer Series opening day biggies.

Victory in the Sunday Storm Special Edition meant WhoisICM had turned a $3.67 entry into a $39,977 win ahead of a massive field of almost 43,000 entries.

That’s it for another roundup of the best of the Sunday grind, but we’ll be back again next Monday to keep you up-to-date with the online world’s biggest MTT results.
