The timing of Dunst’s victory was propitious, coming as it did on the day that the WPT renamed its Champions Cup after his predecessor in the booth, Mike Sexton.

The Madison, Wisconsin-born pro was among 849 unique entries for event 21 on the WSOP schedule, a further 512 rebuys creating a prizepool of $952,700.

Among the 206 players who made the cashed were Phil 'Lumestackin' Hellmuth (114th place for $1,429), 2013 WSOP Main Event champ Ryan 'bitc0in' Riess (60th for $2,000), and Daniel 'DNegs' Negreanu (30th spot and $5,144).

Come the final table of six, however, and Tony 'Panoramic' Dunst was the standout name, and boasted a standout stack – which he increased with KOs of Jon 'havuuuuuc' Turner in 6th, and Krista 'Pollux' Gifford in 5th…

The final results may have been reversed if Alec 'Tango_Bravo' Parslow’s big slick had held up against Dunst’s smaller ace.

However, a turned straight sent Parslow to the rail in 3rd, leaving paymycollege as the only obstacle between Dunst and bracelet number 2.

The duel finally came to an end when Dunst produced a sweet turned flush against a turned straight, taking the last of his foe’s chips soon afterwards – ensuring the bracelet and $168,342.
