ACR Introduce Custom Bet Sizing Tool in Time for $50million GTD PKO Series

Americas CardRoom have launched a new Custom Bet Sizing tool and it’s a game changer according to the site, who have just kicked off their $50million GTD PKO tournament series.

The US-facing site has been steadily implementing changes based on player feedback, and the customisable bet sizing tool is the latest tweak to come out of the ACR lab.

It’s a sophisticated little piece of kit, allowing players to switch easily from % of the pot to Big Blinds, with separate pre-flop and post-flop options.

You can also choose whether or not you want rake included in the bet size or not, and you can even customise the slider tool to work in reverse.

A tutorial on how to use the tool shows how simple it all is, and there’s even an info box explaining why and how the pros include bet sizing in their thinking at every spot.

Of course, the basic default setting comes as standard for those who don’t like change, but it’s likely to prove extremely useful to everyone else.

It’s PKO time on ACR

That ‘everyone else on ACR’ at the moment is knee-deep in the MoMoMO PKO tournament series, a 500-tournament schedule focused on Progressive KnockOut events, with a staggering $50million in guarantees.

That’s the biggest such series exclusively for PKOs that the poker world has ever seen, and it includes a $1million GTD biggie every Sunday, for six straight weeks.

As with most ACR series, the star attraction is the Venom – this time a $5million GTD PKO version that kicks off next month.

Venom PKO Schedule

The $5million PKO biggie runs from October 23rd to November 4th and has four separate Day 1 options to the $2650 buy-in event.

  • Day 1A: Friday, October 23rd
  • Day 1B: Sunday, October 25th
  • Day 1C: Friday, October 30th
  • Day 1D: Sunday, November 1st
  • Day 2: Monday, November 2nd
  • Day 3: Tuesday, November 3rd
  • *Final Table: Wednesday, November 4th

Off course, you can satellite your way in as usual, and you’ll find all the details for that in the ACR lobby.

If you’re not sure how Progressive KnockOut  tournaments work, here’s all you need to know

How Progressive Knockout Tournaments Work

Say you enter a $20 Progressive Knockout Tournament (PKO). Half of that buy-in, $10, goes into a Regular prizepool. The other $10 goes towards the Bounty payments – each player starting with that sum on their head.

Knock someone out and you win $5 of that bounty, while the other $5 is now added to your head. That means you’re a wanted player, a $15 Bounty on your head.

If someone takes you out, they win an immediate $7.50 and the other $7.50 gets added to their head.

And so it goes on, all the way to the deep stages of the tournament where Bounty payments can sometimes amount to more than the regular prizemoney!
