Daniel Negreanu Continues Grudge Match Comeback with $98,000 Win Over Doug Polk

It was another excellent day at the 2021 tables for Daniel Negreanu yesterday, the Canadian legend pocketing close to $100k as his Grudge Match comeback against Doug Polk began in earnest…

Entering session 24 of their $200/$400 online HUNL battle on WSOP.com, the GGPoker ambassador could boast 12 wins to 11, but many of those were small compared to Polk’s 6-figure winning sessions.

Still, close to $1million a few weeks ago, Negreanu had pulled it back to under $750k with some decent recent gains, and the momentum continued his way yesterday.

Negreanu had already bagged some decent pots to lead by close to a buy-in on both tables, then added another $10k when a tidy river appeared, although the check trap failed to entice Polk into investing more…

Negreanu: J♥ 9♥
Polk: ??

Flop: 3♣ 6♣ 4♥
Turn: 5♥
River: 9♥

♣ ♠ ♦ ♥

It was Polk, however, who produced the first full stacking of the day, a brutal river that gave both men full houses costing DNegs $40k

Negreanu: 6♥ 6♠
Polk: K♣ Q♦

Flop: 6♣ Q♠ K♥
Turn: J♠
River: K♣

♣ ♠ ♦ ♥

At one point Negreanu had six-figure stacks on both tables, but by the end of a long session Polk had pegged that back a bit - although he still ended the day down close to $100,000.
