Last week it was the MLK special and this week it was Joe Biden’s inauguration that gave Global Poker an excuse to hand out free money to its players, another 50percent boost to the guarantee and a huge turnout seeing Georgia’s JuicyJC taking down a presidential 20k win…

The US-facing poker-room saw a massive 550 entries to the Sunday afternoon flagship Scrimmage tournament, the 46th Inauguration Special breaking all records on the site, along with the SC75k guarantee, which was smashed beyond expectations with SC110,000 in the final prizepool.
That meant 90 players in the money and they were all chasing some massive cash prizes up top, the podium positions all looking at five-figure paydays.
First up, though, getting to the final table – and among the nine who made it were three Californians – ‘CherryPoppins’ winning name of the day but unfortunately falling in 9th spot, although a sweet SC1606 provided good compensation.
The battle was fast and furious and the biggest hands were always the winners, Califironia’s hopes of Scrimmage glory ending when ‘Ryno1113’ couldn’t get his big slick to hold up against ten-king.
The same denouement befell Texas player ‘Rollotemaci’, who fell in 4th in the following hand…
‘Rollotemaci’: K♦ A♠
‘Eric Von Carlos’: A♣ J♣
Flop: 6♦ J♥ 10♣
Turn: 8♠
River: 6♣
♣ ♠ ♦ ♥
That was the podium set, with two Arizonians in the top three, but ‘OnTheWayUp’ fell in 3rd for an excellent SC11,000, leaving ‘Eric Von Carlos’ to battle it out heads-up with Georgia’s finest, ‘JuicyJC’…
Queens against fives was enough to secure victory and a juicy SC20,570 cash to go along with 46th Inauguration Special Scrimmage bragging rights!

Earlier in the day, the Sunday Teaser had also seen its guaranteed prizepool smashed, an extra SC5k in the kitty when 305 entries appeared.
Fifty-four players made the money, and the battle for the Teaser title came down to a heads-up affair between Californian ‘Michaelgreer22’ and Michigan’s ‘Grappler1989’.
The latter won out, bagging the SC5,837 top prize, with his opponent taking a well-deserved SC4,346 as runner-up.
