Isildur1 Wins $1.2m From WCGRider at $400/$800 NLHE

Another day, another $1.3m for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, as he crushes WCGRider at the NLHE tables

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom played a 24 hour session starting Friday evening, ending his long haul with a $1.2m win against arch NLHE rival, Doug "WCGRider" Polk at the deep $400/$800 NLHE tables.

After winning over half a million dollars on Friday evening, Blom lost his way during an early hours session of (ironically enough) $400/$800 NLHE against WCGRider, dropping $450k in little over an hour, a match which you can read more about in yesterday's report

The remainder of the morning and the early part of the afternoon was spent by Blom regaining lost ground, and he ended up winning a little under $300k at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables, in a six hour session, playing against Gus Hansen, ragen70, and Kagome Kagome. The session also brought a $345k win for ragen70, with Hansen losing nearly $550k in the match. Blom also enjoyed success at the FLO8 tables winning $79k, mainly from Patrik "FinddaGrind" Antonius, with a little from cottonseed1. Isildur1 finally surged ahead for the day after winning $182k from SanIker, taking his profit from the $500/$1000 CAP NLHE tables (the pair also played $400/$800 non cap, with SanIker taking a little back to end with his $182k deficit).

With a freshly invigorated bankroll, Isildur1 once again took a shot at WCGRider at the $400/$800 NLHE tables.

The match started very well for WCGRider, as he cruised to a $250k lead across thre tables, and it seemed the writing might be on the wall for another Isildur1 meltdown. This time, however, Blom battles hard to twice wrestle a $250k lead from his opponent in the opening hour and a half of the match.

After a short comfort break, the pair opened four new tables, with Blom taking the advantage for the first time in the match, forging a $280k lead over the next hour and twenty minutes, despite losing the day's biggest pot during this session:

A massive cooler for Isildur1 as he flops top set, only for his opponent to have flopped the nut flush - $490.1k pot

The damage from this pot wasn't as severe as it might have been, as Blom had only recently inflated his stack at the table after winning his biggest hand of the day moments earlier:

Blom win's this classic AK vs QQ race as an Ace hits the flop - $309.3k pot

Another short break, and a fresh set of tables couldn't help WCGRider, as Isildur1 went into overdrive, and over the next 2hrs 40mins he won close to a million dollars from Polk, at one point sitting with a  seven figure stack at table Big Ben. Isildur1's presure was relentless, and it seemed that WCGRider simply had no answer to it.

During the final stages of the match, Polk did produce something of a comeback, winning back a little of $200k from his low point. However, the damage was done, and Isildur1 brought proceedings to a halt, claiming (not unreasonably) that he needed to sleep after being up "30 hours straight". His $1.2m marked the end of a remarkable $1.8m upswing since his earlier loss to Polk, and his daily haul totalled $1.3m.

Once again, Blom is the biggest winner of the year by a seven figure margin, and for the third time this year his total winnings have eclipsed $5m after being back to even less than four weeks ago.
