According to a recent post on nj.com, partypoker’s New Jersey brand will be putting $600,000 up for grabs over the course of 15 events and nine days of action from April 19-27 in what will be the inaugural edition of the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOP).

Held in association with the WPT World Championship live tournament at the Borgata that will run from April 21-26, the online series generated so much interest from potential participants that organisers had to change their original plans to host 10 events to 15.

The series will begin with a $50,000 freeroll on April 19 that also promises to dish out an NJCOP ticket package worth $2,000 to every player that makes the final table. Most of the schedule will be NL Hold’em events, including a $200 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed tournament on April 20 and a $500 entry, $30,000 guaranteed high roller edition on April 27.

The NJCOP’s main event will be a $200,000 guaranteed tournament with a $200 buy in. The deepstack freezeout event on Sunday April 27 promises to be a record breaker in New Jersey’s regulated market history, promising the winner a prize of at least $50,000.

If you love poker then you need to be in New Jersey come April 19,” said Team partypoker captain and TV commentator Mike Sexton. “The online poker action in New Jersey has been red hot since day one and the NJCOP will be the ultimate test for pros and amateurs alike.”
