Daniel Colman Wins One Drop For $15.3 Million At WSOP 2014

Second again for Negreanu

Players returned to the final day of the Big One For One Drop tournament aware that none of them had actually secured any money yet, although that was sorted out on the very first hand of the day when Tom Hall busted by losing a race to Daniel Negreanu. That  gave Negreanu the chip lead and it was one that he went on to extend after busting Cary Katz (8th) Scott Seiver (6th) and Tobias Reinkemeier (5th)

Daniel Colman was the only player able to keep up with Negreanu and it was these two who went on to face one another for the bracelet after Christoph Vogelsang was eliminated in 3rd. For three hours the two battled it out until a stunning final hand finished things off. Negreanu limp/shoved from the button with {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and found himself slightly ahead of Colman's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The {J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop appeared to be huge for Negreanu but the {10-Spades} turn card soon changed all that and Colman went on to claim victory with a Broadway straight.

Final table payouts:

1 Daniel Colman                             $15,306,668

2 Daniel Negreanu                           $8,288,001

3 Christoph Vogelsang                    $4,480,001

4 Rick Salomon                                 $2,800,000

5 Tobias Reinkemeier                     $2,053,334

6 Scott Seiver                                     $1,680,000

7 Paul Newey                                     $1,418,667

8 Cary Katz                                          $1,306,607

Daniel Negreanu may have just missed out on another bracelet but his second place is good enough to give him the lead for most live tournament money won with just under $30 million worth.

All eyes have been on the One Drop tournament but there are actually five other events in progress at the moment and further updates from those tournaments will follow later.
