Poker Hall of Fame Nominations, Greg Merson's New Sponsor

Will Daniel Negreanu join the Poker Hall of Fame this year?

The World Series of Poker informed recently, that public nominations are now being accepted for 2014 Poker Hall of Fame.

The Poker Hall of Fame traditionally elects one or two members annually. According to WSOP.com, the enshrinement ceremony is held this November in Las Vegas, when the final table of the Main Event resumes.

Not everyone can be inducted in the Poker Hall of Fame, as there are several criteria you have to pass:

  •     A player must have played poker against acknowledged top competition
  •     Be a minimum of 40 years old at time of nomination
  •     Played for high stakes
  •     Played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers
  •     Stood the test of time
  •     Or, for non-players, contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.

Speaking to WSOP.com, Daniel Negreanu said that he would be surprised if he wasn’t chosen this year. As you might remember, Negreanu is turning 40 this weekend.

"I wouldn’t feel guilty and the only reason is because when I look at the list of attributes to get in, I think I’ve met them.  If I wasn’t selected, then I would think to myself, ‘so what exactly do I need to do to get in [laughter]?  Like what exactly have I missed here?'  So, I guess I would be surprised if I wasn’t chosen.  But I’ll respect the decision people make, either way.", Negreanu said.

My name change was due to signing with WSOP.com and apologize if that wasn't more clear by my tweets and instagram. Since the name change I have not played on my other screen as it has been terminated afaik.
