Sam Trickett Splits with 10-year Girlfriend Natasha Sandhu

Partypoker go mad for Xmas

Britain’s most successful live tournament poker player Sam Trickett has confirmed on his blog at Everest Poker that he and long term partner Natasha Sandhu have decided to end their 10 years together, having “grown apart” in recent years.

“It was one of the toughest decisions of my life, but we had grown apart over the time it has taken us to mature into adults”, wrote the 28-year old, who holds a European record as the only player on the continent to have surpassed $20m in live earnings.

It was that sort of commitment and sacrifice for his career however, that proved too much of a strain on his relationship. He claimed that he had tried bringing Sandhu on his travels, but that the fear of her being “stuck in a hotel room with foreign TV” all day would throw him off his game, and he’d normally leave tournaments prematurely to go back and meet her.

With Sandhu feeling as though they weren’t spending enough time together and Trickett not wanting to sacrifice his living, something eventually had to give.

She always looked out for my best interests, made sure that my gambling was in check, brought normality to my life, and always made sure I remembered to spend time with family and old friends. In short, she helped me grow up.”

Yesterday announced the release of a major, Christmas themed update for its online poker client. The update is intended to provide grinders with a “Christmas touch” right through until January 2015.

The new and exclusive to partypoker theme implements a Christmassy feel to the client itself, the felt at each table and even each player’s avatar.

Some other noteworthy changes include a new column in the lobby with details on Casual Cash Games and Tournament Tickets, plus all blinds will now be posted automatically in ring games to allow the games to flow smoother and faster.

Plus, perhaps most significantly, after years of crying out players can finally be able to use the “Enter” button on the keyboard to bet or raise an amount!
