Samuel Panzica wins EPT Dublin €10K High Roller, €375,770

2013 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Riess fought hard with his short stack, but eventually ran his pocket fours into the eights of Davidi Kitai

Following a cagey heads-up duel with opponent Akin Tuna, the USA’s Samuel Panzica emerged victorious from a final table packed with big names in the €10,000 buy-in EPT Dublin High Roller event last weekend.

It did take a huge stroke of fortune to break the deadlock however, with Panzica somehow flopping quad kings with only one in his starting hand while Tuna unluckily backed into a full house with his J-10. Tuna and Panzica did agree to chop before a winner was decided though, which meant the German would walk away with a tidy €290,000.

The man from Michigan, who had only once before cashed for over six-figures in his endeavours on the live tournament felt – a $109K score back in April 2015 – now boasts nearly $1.2M in total career earnings after this monstrous €375,770 addition to his bank balance.

And to think he had been set on dodging the event altogether because of how tough its field looked:

Big names at the final table who fell short on this occasion included initial chip leader from Russia Sergey Lebedev (3rd). The Russian finished eighth at last summer’s $111,111 WSOP One Drop event for nearly half a million. 2 Months 2 Million star Emil ‘Whitelime’ Patel (4th), Belgian Triple Crown winner Davidi Kitai (5th) and 2013 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Riess (5th).

Here’s a full rundown of the final table payouts:
