Aaron Paul signs for Maria Ho’s GPL team LA Sunset

Maria Ho drafts Aaron Paul as her wildcard pick for LA Sunset

Aaron Paul, co-star of arguably one of the greatest TV shows of all time in Breaking Bad, has officially been selected by Team Manager Maria Ho to be the sixth and final member of the LA Sunset Global Poker League side.

Paul, who was spotted grinding side events at the Rio and railing friends playing in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) back in 2014 went on to play the Main Event himself last year, but is still without a career cash worthy of landing him his own page on live tournament tracking site Hendon Mob.

Despite this, his Team Manager in Ho has nothing but faith in her choice and warns anyone underestimating Paul that he’s not just in the side as a novelty:

“I am beyond thrilled that we were able to get Aaron Paul as the Wildcard pick for the LA Sunset”, said Ho. “He is not only going to bring his love for the game of poker to the league but will also be incredibly entertaining to watch. Don’t underestimate his poker ability though! He’s got skills!”

The unlikely signing of Paul by Ho was made possible by a friend the pair have in common, Traci Szymanski, who was able to connect the two and ensure the deal went through.

Paul joins the likes of Global Poker Index (GPI) Player of the Year Fedor Holz, Olivier Busquet, Eugene Katchalov and Chance Kornuth on Maria Ho’s final LA Sunset roster.

Who knows? Maybe Dreyfus’s bid to “sportify” poker will work after all.
