Dan "steamraise" Alaei wins $123k & Big Swings for Isildur1

The mixed game action moved up from the recent $400/$800 tables to the $1k/$2k stakes yesterday with a slew of big name players trying their luck. The biggest winner of the day was Daniel "steamraise" Alaei who won $122.9k after success at the $1k/$2k 8-Game and Horse.

After starting the day with a 6 hour session from midnight to sunrise steamraise had turned around initially losses made at the $400/$800 8-Game tables with some bigger wins at $1k/$2k, mixed in with a little success at $200/$400 PLO against cumicon - ending his morning session up around $50k.

Alaei was back 6 hours later and started well with a $47.6k 90min session of $1k/$2k HORSE playing against Crazy Elior, SamRostan, and joiso. After losing a little at the FLO8 tables, steamraise ended the day with a $47k win from 3 hours at the $1k/$2k 8-Game tables playing alongside the likes of Isildur1, w00ki3z., Trueteller, Jason Mercier, joiso, Crazy Elior, and ChaoRen160.

German star Jens "Fresh_oO_D" Lakemeier made a six-figure score from a post midnight 7.5 hour marathon at the $400/$800 8-Game tables where he won $104.2k, although some minor losses that evening at the $100/$200 tables meant he ended the day 2nd on the daily leaderboard up +$89.7k.

asdf26 also won big in this early morning $400/$800 game, winning $83.3k - although he stayed at the table rather longer, playing over 1.2k hands after playing close the 15 hours at the table. He ended the day +$79k.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom looked like he might end as the day's biggest winner after winning a little at the $1k/$2k FLO8 table before going on a bit of a tear at the $1k/$2k 8-Game tables. He was up well over $100k at one point during the evening matches before he started to lose his way somewhat.

Eventually most of the players took their leave and for the last 5 hours Blom played heads-up against Daniel "w00ki3z." Cates at one table.

It looked bad for Isildur1 who started the match with a $140k stack at the table only to see that disappear to the player more commonly known as "jungleman". After sitting out for some time Isildur1 eventually reloaded for another $50k and ended up winning back over $90k to end his day down just $11k (although as the match with Cates ran over into Tuesday, he appears down $78.8k in the daily results). The last couple of hours of the match contained all of the day's biggest pots:

Cates flops two pair to Isildur1's top pair, the turn gives Isildur1 a flush draw and he bets big only to be put all-in by his opponent. The river delivers the flush, but unfortunately for Isildur1 it also pairs the board, giving w00ki3z. a full house to take this $138.6k pot

Isildur1 starts his comeback after shoving with two pairs on the turn. Cates is hoping for his wrap draw to complete but blanks two runs of the river, handing this $136.5k pot to Isildur1.
