Doyle Brunson Narrowly Misses Armed Robbery

Doyle Brunson took to Twitter on Friday to share some troubling news with his 426,000 followers.

Doyle Brunson, a ten-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, said a police officer came to his home on Friday and informed him that a neighbor on his street was robbed at gunpoint (see the Twitter updates below).

Apparently, the villain got the wrong house as Brunson appears to have been the initial target of the robbery. According to Brunson, he has been robbed at least five times in his life.

In 1998, Brunson and his wife were robbed by armed men at his Las Vegas Country Club home. The robbers got away with about $4,000 in cash and $80,000 in chips he had been carrying. He had even faked a heart attack to confuse his captors - "I just knew that if I didn't have any money here to give them, they'd be awfully mad," Brunson said.

Brunson recently turned 83 and he is still playing the biggest live cash games in the world in Bobby's Room at Bellagio. The living poker legend admits carrying a handgun to protect himself:
