Isildur1 Wins Six-Figures Once Again at 8-Game Tables

Once again high stakes pros Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Germany's RaulGonzales were battling it out for a solid 12 hours yesterday at PokerStars $1k/$2k 8-Game tables, and once again it was eventually Isildur1 who came out on top, winning $104,655 from over 2,200 hands.

Despite ending another marathon session with a big win, Isildur1 was actually behind for the majority of yesterday's mixed-game session, constantly having to play catch-up with his German rival who made several decent upswings throughout the 12 hour session, reaching a high point of +$130k after five and a half hours of play.

Isildur1 was playing tenacious poker, however, and took the lead in the match on four separate occasions before his final, decisive upswing. After 10 hours play, Isildur1 was still behind, and he didn't regain the lead for the last time until just 90 minutes before the end of the match, hitting his high point for the session of +$120k around twenty minutes before the match ended, which was shortly after 3am server time.

This latest win puts Isildur1 up over $670k for 2017, making him now the second biggest online winner after Trueteller. The win also marks the first time Isildur1 has been over $2m in high stakes profit at PokerStars since his big upswing in the second half of 2015. However, as most of Isildur1's profit came from hands played after midnight, that will not be reflected in yesterday's figures and you'll have to wait for tomorrow's update before they appear on his overal profit/loss graph.

Showing as yesterday's biggest winner we see fellow Swede Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz, who bagged a $46,050 profit from 341 hands played. He won at the PLO, NLHE, FLO8, and 8-Game tables, with over $35k of his total profit coming from the $300/$600 FLO8 tables where he played heads-up against Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion for just over half an hour yesterday lunchtime.

Above: Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz is showing as yesterday's biggest winner as much of Isildur1's profit came from hands logged after midnight, despite being from the same session he started at 3pm yesterday.

Second on yesterday's leaderboard we find Russian NLHE specialist Katya_18 who ended the day up $45,782 after 741 hands played at the $25/$50 and $50/$100 tables, with over half of those winnings coming from just 72 hands of heads-up play at $50/$100 against French-Canadian Pascal "Pass_72" Lefrancois

Isildur1 finds himself third on yesterday's leaderboard with a $35,042 profit after early hour wins at the 8-Game tables (continued from the previous night's session vs RaulGonzales) and $30k from a heads-up session against David "Deldar182" Eldar in the early hours.

The fourth placed finisher on yesterday's high stakes leaderboard was SorteBonito who won $18,908 from a four hour heads-up match yesterday morning against 2bb100hands at the $200/$400 FLHE tables.
