The newest WSOP Main Event champion, Scott Blumstein, was recently seen playing the $3,500 Main Event at WPT Choctaw, where he talked to World Poker Tour about winning the poker's most coveted title for over $8 million.

According to the interview, Blumstein has not made any major purchases yet as he doesn't want to make any rash decisions with his new-found wealth. The new world champ has instead continued to play on the live tournament circuit and his future tournament schedule includes at least some more WPT events:

"It’s all kind of new. It’s hard to really have any set-in-stone plans, but as of right now it’s just day to day – no crazy purchases. I don’t want to make any rash decisions, because when you do that that’s when you make mistakes. The WPT was probably the tour I played the most, even before I won, so I don’t think that will change. I’m going here and then I’m going to an event in Florida and then I’m going to L.A. for the WPT [Legends of Poker] event out there. My next couple months are filled with WPT tournaments,” Blumstein said.

Blumstein says his next goal is to win a WPT title, but that won't happen at WPT Choctaw at least after he was eliminated during Day 1 action.
