Sam Trickett: Phil Ivey & Tom Dwan told me they would love to play in partypoker high stakes cash game

Sam Trickett's inaugural high stakes invitational cash-game was a big success and he's looking forward to more of the same at partypoker

Last Wednesday partypoker ambassador and high stakes pro Sam Trickett organised an invite-only high stakes online PLO game at the site and encouraged high stakes fans to rail the action. According to Trickett, the six-hour long game which also featured the likes of Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, Leon Tsourkernik,  Tony G, Rob Yong, and Jan-Peter Jachtmann was a big success and he will be looking to stage more, and potentially bigger, games at "Trickett's Room" in the near future - and has already sounded out both Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Phil Ivey about making an appearance!

Whether Sam can arrange the games around Dwan and Ivey's schedules is yet to be seen, but according to Trickett, "Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey have told me they would love to play, but we will see"

The game started at $100/$200 stakes but the players soon moved up to $200/$400 where the action was fast and furious. As Trickett told HSDB, "It's nice to play vs players who play very aggressively and who aren't using tracking software, it makes for a more fun game."

Sam is very confident that the big invitational games will continue, telling us, "Everyone that played really enjoyed themselves, and they are already asking me when the next game is". He added, "It wouldn't surprise me if we end up increasing the stakes and one day playing pots over $500k."

When we asked what we could expect from games at Trickett's room moving forward Sam said, "I want there to be a balance of pros and non-pros, as we've seen on poker shows in the past, that dynamic tends to create a really exciting game"

Trickett was also eager to point out that invitation game feature is open to anyone who plays at partypoker, saying, "If you want to play a game amongst yourselves, just email in and it can be arranged"

The biggest winner of the game was Kings Casino Rozvadov owner, Leon Tsourkernik, who played under the screen name "KingsOfLeon". Tsourkernik made a tidy profit of just over $93k. Blom, playing under his usual alias "Isildur1" also made a decent score, winning $62k.

Of his own performance Sam was reasonably happy  (he ended the session with a $37.5k profit) saying, "I played ok. I bluffed off $40k in one pot which I wasn't too happy with but I was just happy that everyone enjoyed it and that nobody lost too much".

The biggest pot of the match went to KingsOfLeon who got the best of a three-way all in. Player Drulitooo had put his last chips in the middle after turning the nut-straight and was called by both thepucker and KingsOfLeon. A third heart on the river gave thepucker a King high flush with which he proceeded to jam the remainder of his stack, only for Leon to call with the nut-flush. The total pot of $110,818 went to KingsofLeon.
