Patrick Serda on a Roll, Leads partypoker Canadian Poker Championships

It's been a pretty good week so far for Canadian pro Patrick Serda. Just a couple of days ago he took down the WCOOP $10,300 High Roller event for $469,191, and now he goes into the final day of the partypoker Candian Poker Championships with a decent chip lead after three days of play.

After bagging his biggest ever online score and his first WCOOP bracelet, Serda oozed confidence in the penultimate day of the partypoker LIVE event yesterday, taking his day 2 starting stack of 8.8m to over 90m by the time play ended for the day with 21 players remaining. In fact with just 24 players left, Serda had 130m - representing 15% of the total chips in play.

Serda took the chip lead after eliminating former PCA Main Event champion Kevin Shulz in a huge 60m chip pot when his {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} found the {j-Hearts} on the river against Shulz's {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} in an all-in preflop pot. Serda had only recently won a 30m chip pot when he eliminated another tournament favourits, Ari Engel when Engel jammed with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} only to run into Serda's {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Both the day 1 and day 2 chip leaders are still in contention, with day 1's chip leader Daren Keyes in 17th with 20.7m and day 2's end of day leader Sebastien Labbe sitting comfortably in second with 72.3m. Other big names still in contention for the $400,000 (CAD) first place prize money are WSOP bracelet winner Mike "goleafsgoeh" Leah, currently in 7th with 54.1m and the USA's Kyle Bowker, currently the short stack with 11.5m.
