Viktor "Isildur1" Blom has taken down WCOOP 58-H $2,100 HORSE for $60,760 after fending off 93 other hopefuls (with 30 re-entries). This is Blom's first WCOOP title which he can proudly add to his three SCOOP titles.

This title was won last year by PokerStars lead pro, Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu after defeating Isildur1 heads-up, so it will be doubly satisfying for the Swedish phenom to come back in 2017 to go one better and win the title.

Isildur1 entered the final table of 8 in second place with just over 1m chips, a little behind aDrENalin70 on 1.5m. Joining them at the final table were Finland's Jussi "calvin7v" Nevanlinna, already a WCOOP and double SCOOP winner, high stakes PLO pro Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas, Italian tourney high roller Dario "Secret_M0d3" Sammartino, GlassOfBeer, WCOOP and SCOOP winner 7PRS, and aramesko.

First to go on the 50th hand of the final table was Secret_M0d3 when his A 10 was beaten by aDrENalin70's turned King high flush in a round of LHE after the short stacked Sammartino had got it in good on an Ace high flop. By this time aDrENalin70 had more than twice the chips of his nearest rival with 2.254m. At this point Isildur1 was down to $750k.

Just two hands later, however, and Blom was back in second as he eliminated omaha4rollz in a round of FLO8 after Isildur1 turned a set of Jacks to win the high pot and showed 8,7,3,2,A for the low.

Soon after Isildur1 took the lead, one which he was to keep pretty much throughout the remainder of the final table. calvin7v was the next casualty, losing his last 100k chips to 7PRS in a hand of Razz.

Five handed play lasted well over 100 hands but eventually the player to capitulate was aramesko who went into a 3-way FLO8 pot with aDrENalin70 and GlassOfBeer, with aDrENalin70 scooping the entire pot with a turned flush. By this time Isildur1 had 3m chips, twice the number of chips of his nearest river, aDrENalin70.

Once again there was a very long period of play before the next elimination, and despite his early lead it was aDrENalin70 who bit the dust in 4th after getting into one too many raising wars. Finding himself short-stacked he was eventually put away by 7PRS in a round of Stud.

Isildur1 really started to run away with the match during three-handed play as he used his big stack to his advantage as he pushed on towards 5m chips of the 6.3m in play. Isildur1 finally went over the 5m mark when he took 7PRS's last 277k chips in a round of Stud when he made a flush on 7th street to beat his opponent's pair of fours.

GlassOfBeer put up a good fight heads-up, closing the gap a little to 1.9m to 4.3m at one point, but there only ever looked like being one winner. It was on the 57th hand of heads-up play that Isildur1 finally put the tournament to bed when he turned the nut straight in a round of LHE after GlassOfBeer had flopped two pairs.

Isildur1 won $60,760 for his first WCOOP victory, with GlassOfBeer earning $42,160 for his second-place finish.
