The 2017 World Championship of Online Poker finished earlier today on PokerStars when Dutch pro living in Malta, Steven "SvZff" van Zadelhoff, took down the $5,200 buy-in Main Event for over $1,6 million.

PokerStars guaranteed $10 million for the WCOOP Main Event this year and after over 1,800 players registered (+379 re-entries), the final prize pool ended up being almost $11 million.

The 9-handed final table started with Zadelhoff holding just over a third of the chips in play. The huge chip lead gave Zadelhoff plenty of room to maneuver and the Dutchman ended up eliminating four players on his way to victory.

When the play got down to the final three players, Bernardo "Machadada RS" Rocha asked about a possible deal, but Zadelhoff declined althought he was second in chips that time behind Canadian player "joshuah333". However, that proved to be a good decision for Zadelhoff, who eventually took down the 2017 WCOOP Main Event after outlasting "joshuah333" in the heads-up play.

While this was Zadelhoff's biggest ever cash he had already over $5 million in total lifetime online tournament cashes and over $1,5 million in live tournament cashes prior to this win.
