The final table for the latest Triton Super High Roller Series Main Event in Macau has been set, and it will be young Spanish phenom Adrian Mateos who leads the way, just ahead of high roller winning machine, Fedor Holz in second.
The success of the latest Triton Super High Roller Series has seen record fields in both the HK$250k 6max and now the HK$1m Main Event with some 83 HK$1m entries made over the past couple of days - 31 more entries than the last HK$1m event back in July. This means that whoever wins later today will be in line for a huge HK$22,410,400 (US $2,872,299), with the second place prize money also topping the $2m US mark.
Behind 3 time WSOP champ Mateos (4.785m) and Holz (4.325m) is the other German pro to make the final table, Dietrich Fast. The WPT and WSOP winner sits in third place with 3.37m. Starting in fourth place today will be Australian pro Kahle Burns, Canadian WSOP bracelet winner Timothy Adams is in 5th with 2.185m. The day's early chip leader, Stephen Chidwick managed to hold on for a final table appearance and he'll start the day in 6th with 1.395m. The only player to make both final tables at the Triton SHR is Ike Haxton who made the final table in 7th place with 1.075m, and the short stack will be 5 time WSOP bracelet winner and Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda on 990,000.
The event actually paid out 12 places, so although they didn't make it through day two, four other players made the money. Shortly after the money bubble burst the last Triton HK$1m champion Manig Loeser fell in 12th place after his shove with
lost out to Fedor Holz's
when a jack fell on the flop. He collected HK $2,108,000 (US $270k). JC Alvarado fell in 11th when he jammed for over 1m chips after flopping what turned out to be a lower two pairs than Dietrich Fast. Alvarado banked HK $2,186,000 (US $280k) for his efforts. Mike "SirWatts" Watson, who finished runner-up in the HK$250k 6max event, fell just two places short of the final table after he moved all-in for his last 550k with
only to come up against Kahle Burns's pocket 10's. The final elimination of the day came when Mateos won a near 4m chip pot against James Chen when he turned over
on a board of

. Chen mucked his hand and hit the rail in 9th, sending Mateos to the top of the leaderboard. Chen took home HK $2,343,000 (US $300k)
The final table starts at 1pm local time.
