Chris Moorman Wins Record 26th Online Triple Crown

It's been a busy year for online poker's biggest ever tournament winner, Chris Moorman. Not only did he finally win his first WSOP bracelet, earning almost $500,000 for taking down in a $3k NLHE event, but he also published his second book, "Moorman by Chris Moorman". He has now won a record-breaking 26th online Triple Crown as his online tourney winnings approach the $14.4m mark.

In online poker a "Triple Crown" is a title awarded by live tourney database for any online player who wins three online multi-table tournaments within any seven day period which have a prizepool of at least $10,000, at least 100 players entered, and with a minimum buy-in of $0.01 (satelittes not inlcuded).

With the second most decorated Triple Crown winner, Chilean pro Nicolas "PokerKaiser" Fierro on 21 Triple Crowns, Moorman was already considerably ahead of the competition before winning his 26th, and both he and Fierro are way ahead of Hungarian pro Peter "Belabacsi" Traply in 3rd on the all time Triple Crown list with just 11.

Moorman achieved his new milestone during the last week of October, starting with victory in partypoker's Uppercut Warm-Up $20k Guaranteed on Thursday 26th for $8,060. A day later he took down PokerStars $109 Fast Friday Edition, winning $4,163. Over the next couple of days Moorman managed two second and two third places as he came achingly close to the TC, but he was able to seal the deal in the early hours of 31st October, triumphing in 888poker's $10k Monsoon for $2,591.

The final victory will have been all the more sweet for Moorman given that he is sponsored 888poker ambassador.

With both a WPT and a WSOP title under his belt, Moorman would have needed an EPT Main Event title to complete the live Triple Crown. With the EPT now a thing of the past, the next best thing would be victory in a PokerStars Championship Main Event. As well as his $14.4m in online tourney winnings, Moorman also has (as of November 2017) almost $5.2m in live tournament winnings.
