Poker Players Speak out After Bellagio Robbed at Gunpoint

Las Vegas PD released these images of the masked and armed robber yesterday afternoon

Last week a gunman casually entered the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas headed for a cash cage at the poker room during the middle of the $25,000 WPT Five Diamond Classic High Roller, and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money as poker players went about their business just a few feet away.

The man, who was described as "white, in his 30s and about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 — wore glasses, a black beanie cap, a blond wig and a mask that covered a portion of his face" is still at large after fleeing with his unearned Casino Bonus, and yesterday afternoon Las Vegas Police released an image of the gunman taken by one of the Bellagio's security cameras.

Among those present in the poker room at the time of the robbery was Hollywood star and poker fanatic, James Woods, who took to twitter to praise the staff at the casino for the way they handled the heist:

This is the second time this year that the Bellagio has been victim to armed robbers. Back in March three be-suited men wearing masks and carrying guns and sledgehammers robbed the Rolex store inside the casino. 21 year old Mexican Sebastian Gonzalez was apprehended at the scene and just this month he was back in court facing charges.

Poker high roller Jason "jakoon1985" Koon suggested that myabe it's time to ramp up security at the world famous casino in light of these gunpoint robberies, saying:

Despite having his feathers ruffled by being in such close proximity to an armed gunman, Koon didn't let the incident put him off his game as he ended up winning that day's $25k high roller after agreeing a chop with Ike "philivey2694" Haxton - taking home $289,950 for his day's work. Haxton won $271,050, while Cary Katz, Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz, and Ben "Ben86" Tollerene also made the money despite the drama.

Let's hope the Bellagio can step up their security game for 2018 to stop anymore armed criminals extracting an unearned Casino Bonus. Even better, if you fancy your chances at the casino but don't much fancy potentially being interrupted by masked gunmen then our advice would be to find a new casino from 2018 at Casino Online, you might even be able to walk away with a legal no deposit bonus!
