The 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship is set to kick off later today with small buy-in preliminary events, and many poker pros have already headed over to Australia for the annual big poker festival.

The Aussie Millions used to be a regular stop every year for players like Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey. However, some of those "Big Name" poker pros have not played the Aussie Millions for the last few years, like Phil Ivey.

Ivey, who lost both of his edge-sorting cases to the tune of over $20 million, was recently seen travelling to Australia. Ivey had the taken the same flight as Indian poker pro and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Nipun Java, who shared the news on Instagram:

Ivey hinted last year, that he might be making a comeback in 2018, so there is a good chance we will see him play the Aussie Millions this year. Ivey won the Aussie Millions AU$250,000 Challenge three times (in 2012, 2014 and 2015) for over AU$8 million in combined prize money, so it would be only fitting he would make his comeback at Crown Casino, Melbourne Australia.

While the AU$250,000 Challenge will not run this year, the 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship features tournaments with buy-in's all the way up to AU$100,000.
