PokerStars Angers Players After Cancellation of LAPT Chile

Poker players hoping to play the upcoming PokerStars sponsored Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) in Chile received recently some bad news after learning the tour would not make a stop in Chile this year.

What was even worse, some players had already booked their flights for the event. While there has been no official announcement from PokerStars, several players had inquired about the LAPT Chile schedule from the PokerStars support, finally getting an answer:

“Pokerstars just sent me an email saying they just cancelled the first stop of the lapt tour! With 1 month to go, I’ve already bought all tickets for me and my whole family! This is ridiculous," 2+2 user mtaigo said.

As you might imagine, the poker forum started filling up soon with negative comments about the lack of communication by PokerStars in this matter, with another 2+2 poster saying:

I have a good friend who lives overseas and he told me lots of his friends that play regularly on Pokerstars have seen a huge decline in how they treat its players. Canceling that first stop on the lapt tour though so close to the start date is really ****ed up. There needs to be some accountability but it'll never happen.

Players currently visiting are informed that the poker tour will be returning in 2018, but there's no official schedule:
