Global Poker Players Tearing Up The Live Poker Scene

As America's fastest growing poker site, Global Poker, continues to hit new heights online it is also producing some great talent who are obviously just at home on the live tables as they are at the virtual felt, with the first two players to be sent out on the circuit wearing the GP colours have both come back with thousands of dollars to show for their efforts.

As part of their ongoing Global Poker Championships, the winners of the leaderboards from each leg of the Championships are awarded $5,000 to spend buy-ins to the live event of their choice where they will represent Global Poker. The two legs of the Championships which have already taken place, The Eagle Cup and The Grizzly Games spawned two leaderboard champions in Nathan "Penta" Blair (Eagle Cup) and Sandra "MommyGingery" Lefler (Grizzly Games) - both of whom went on to take home more than the cash Global Poker had stumped up to put them in the events!

After topping the Eagle Cup leaderboard back in October, Nathan "Penta" Blair decided to patronise Global Poker at the WSOP Cherokee Circuit event in December where he ended up taking 34th place out of 957 entrant in the $1,675 buy-in $1m GTD Main Event for a $5,627 payday - meaning that Nathan had managed to cash out for more than his sponsors had bought him in for!

Meanwhile, Sandra "MommyGingery" Lefler, who managed to win two events at last months Grizzly Games on her way to topping the leaderboard opted to attend the Wynn Spring Classic at the Wynn Resort & Casino, Las Vegas where she managed to cash in not one but two events. She just missed out on the final table of a $360 +$40 event, finishing 13th out of 157 for $1,085, then went on to take 47th out of 958 entries to the $1.5k buy-in $1m GTD Main Event for another $6,218 - meaning that she left town with over $2,300 more than Global Poker had stumped up for her expenses and entry-fees!

Pretty impressive stuff for a site which champions recreational players!
