Ole Schemion Wins SCOOP PLO High Roller For $283K

German crusher Ole wizowizo Schemion was described as bulletproof and unbreakable as he surged to the $10K PLO High Roller title in PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker yesterday, taking down $283,260 after fending off the final table challenge of Jens Jeans89 Kyllönen, Joao IneedMassari Simao, and Jorryt TheCleaner11 van Hoof along the way.

Of course, PLO cash games are noted for their massive pots, but the same ‘balls of steel’ are required when the tournament PLO stakes are as high as the SCOOP $10k, Pauly McGuire writing on the PokerStars blog that “Schemion faded straight draws, flushes, and backdoor trips” and “snapped off Queens (twice), Kings, and Aces” to take down the win..

The 25-year old, who now calls Austria home, is a noted No Limit Hold’em king, with $14,594,466 to his name in tournament earnings – the 2016 EPT Grand Final in Monaco accounting for $1,807,078 of that in one fell swoop – but he’s no mean player on the virtual felt either.

A field of 88 had assembled for the 6-max event, 38 re-entries producing a prizepool of $1.26million up for grabs with 14 spots paid, and Brazilian star Joao ‘IneedMassari’ Simao in line for a triple COOP if he could take it down but Jens ‘Jeans89’ Kyllönen boasting the overnight chip lead.

Down to the final table, however, and Kyllönen found himself as the short-stack among the most-skilled field you’re likely to find anywhere, but there was no stopping Schemion as he bulldozed the rest of the table and eventually it came down to a very quick dogfight against FLATCA@T, the Maltese-based pro lasting only 2 hands!

With McGuire sharing the action of the final hand, the players got it all-in as the flop fell J♣6♠5♣, ‘wizowizo’ flopping top two pair holding Q♠J♥T♠6♦, and then turning a full house “to seal the deal”.

Another huge victory for the German and another challenger for best player of the here and now!
