Top 5 Tweets Of The Week

The big boys of poker have been in action this week, both on the live and online tables and on Twitter, sharing their exploits and keeping fans updated on the progress - or lack of it – as they do battle in the biggest live and online MTT’s.

1. Daniel Jungleman Cates

Some people are just never happy, but Dan ‘Jungleman12’ Cates takes it to a whole new level by struggling to smile even though he’d just taken $400k and change for his runner-up spot in Montenegro. Still, he seems happy to dust off a few of those $ in a bid to win the Main Event, which would certainly bring a huge smile to his face…

2. Phil Ivey

He’s back and better than ever apparently, Phil Ivey crushing the Short Deck game in Montenegro and piling misery on his Macau stablemate Jungleman as we saw above. With plans for a WSOP appearance or two this summer, the poker world is waiting with baited breath to see if he can stun us all with another bracelet…

…although I have a sneaky suspicion that Daniel Negreanu will rue his warm welcome back into the fold…

3. Patrick ‘plenopads’ Leonard

PokerStars SCOOP series has an added bite to it for Twitter poker fans, with ‘pads1161’ teaming up with the anonymous German pro ‘bencb789’ against the mighty Swedish online duo of Simon 'C Darwin2' Mattsson and Niklas ‘Lena900’ Astedt – a $100k prop bet going to the winners, but it’s still too close to call at the moment…

4. Tom Dwan

It’s a miracle – the poker world has Ivey, Hansen, Antonius and now Tom Dwan all playing again! ‘Durrrr’ has been pretty much MIA for a long time, barring very infrequent appearances, so to see him back on the felt is a dream come true…

…an interview this week revealing that travel has been much on the agenda this past while, the Maldives, Australia and apparently Italy ticked off the map…

5. Daniel Negreanu

We can’t have a list like this without including ‘DNegs’, the Canadian PokerStars numero uno ambassador the only one who seems to be not playing, but still working on his game in the run-up to the SHRB and WSOP.
